I just had to share this very useful app with you, because I am pretty excited about it. The app is called QuickDesk and it allows you to summon a secret homescreen within another app. That’s right folks, we now have access to a homescreen without actually closing an app.

Imagine this scenario; you are inside an app and want to turn on WiFi. Normally I would have to press Home, go to my homescreen that has the Power Control Widget and enable WiFi. Then I would long press the Home button to open the app again from the recent appst. Well with QuickDesk this is much easier because when I double press the Home button within an app, a secret homescreen appears overlaying the app and showing widgets, links or shortcuts. I filled my QuickDesk with information or settings that I would like to access from within an app. This means I can quickly check the weather, manage connections, open other apps or search without ever leaving the app I was originally in. QuickDesk offers one homescreen so no scrolling to left and right which is not a downside because one homescreen is enough to house my important information or settings.

So if you’re a fan of taking shortcuts like me, or believe in efficiency, QuickDesk will be your new favorite app. Give it a try!
