Today some more definitive rumors are published on various techblogs, stating that the Sony Ericsson Anzu X12 will be with us in the beginning of 2011. Specs listed as having a 4.3 inch 854×480 LCD display, the same 800MHz CPU as the G2/Desire Z and a whopping 12 MP camera with 720p video capabilities. While the specs are not all that bad (but also not that great, apart from the camera), it apparently will be launching with Android 2.2(!).

What is up with that SE? You are already enormously behind in updating the X10 line to Froyo, and now you are still launching new devices with old software? Gingerbread (Android 2.3) will be with us in the coming weeks, and SE promises an update to Gingerbread for the X12 in the summer of 2011! That is way behind the pack and will keep the X12 out of fair comparisons to other devices which will run Gingerbread.

My advice to SE: step up your game, update your custom software faster so you don’t keep lagging behind forever. See below for a pic of the X12.
